New Music: That Way- Wale ft. Jeremih & Rick Ross

One of my favorite songs of 2011 has been this track off of Wale’s Eleven 1, Eleven Theory mixtape. One of hip-hops most slept on artists, Wale, has been putting out gem after gem and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

His next studio album entitled, Ambition should be out on November 1st.

O.V.O. Festival 2011

Drake on stage

Caribana wasn’t the only event happening in Toronto this past weekend, Drake pulled out all the stops this year for his 2nd annual O.V.O. Festival.

The event which featured fellow Toronto artist, The Weeknd and also the biggest rapper (literally) in the game right now, Rick Ross will go down as one of the hottest concerts of the year.  Performing in front of a packed crowd inside The Molson Amphitheatre, Drake delivered the goods. With artist such as J.Cole, Nas, Lil Wayne and the legendary Stevie Wonder surprising audience members with a show they won’t soon forget. Check out the footage below.

With two fantastic albums under his belt, 2006′s Food & Liquor and The Cool it seemed like Hip-Hop had found another great talent. Lupe Fiasco had become one of Hip-Hop’s rising stars and seemed to be on the brink of a great career, however with a 4 year gap between albums and some questionable actions in that span (feuds with other rappers, claims to retire and quit music) it appeared the music world had been mistaken.

Toronto’s own Richie Sosa is back with another HOT mixtape entitled, The Never Ending Beginning (which dropped earlier this week).

The mixtape features banging beats and heavy hitting lyrics. Sosa samples tracks like  “The Art of Storytelling”, “Angels” and “Let Me Know” while the beats are sampled-the content and wordplay is a style all his own.

Sosa’s hype energy is felt from the very first track,  his unique way storytelling his past wrongs and struggles and successes are sure to captivate  listeners. His gritty style  mixed with  hard hitting beats make the mixtape a definite car banger (download link after the jump). This mixtape goes hard! Sosa has brought what the streets been waiting for…some real Hip-Hop!

T.I. Gets 11 Months

It’s official, just 8 short months after his release from prison, 3 time Grammy Award winner T.I.’s probation has been revoked. This is after a September arrest with his wife Tiny in Los Angeles for suspected drug possession.

T.I. just days ago talked a man out of a suicide attempt. He issued this statement to CNN: I’m tired, I’m wore out. I don’t have the age, the energy, or just the attitude to move forward and continuing in this cycle in this ongoing process of destruction and disparity in my life. I’ve got too many depending on me and counting on me.”
