Toronto’s The Weeknd has returned with a brand new mixtape for your listening pleasure. Fresh off of his Toronto concert and apperance at Drake’s O.V.O. Fest, The Weeknd has released, Thursday. The mixtape is the follow up to his “House of Balloons” tape and features the hit song, The Birds (part 1).

O.V.O. Festival 2011

Caribana wasn’t the only event happening in Toronto this past weekend, Drake pulled out all the stops this year for his 2nd annual O.V.O. Festival.

The event which featured fellow Toronto artist, The Weeknd and also the biggest rapper (literally) in the game right now, Rick Ross will go down as one of the hottest concerts of the year.  Performing in front of a packed crowd inside The Molson Amphitheatre, Drake delivered the goods. With artist such as J.Cole, Nas, Lil Wayne and the legendary Stevie Wonder surprising audience members with a show they won’t soon forget. Check out the footage below.

If you’ve been out of the loop it’s about time you crawl out from that rock and take in new music. The Weeknd is a Toronto based artist who came onto the radar near the end of 2010. His sound is similar to that of The Dream and the singing sounds like Drake when he tries to do his R&B thing- for better or for worse.
